Company Impact
Our commitment to financing women-led businesses started well before JPC. Back in 2019, at our prior firm, we took a hard look at our portfolio and realized 33% of our portfolio was made up of female-owned or led companies.
With a leadership team that was 66% women—and Palmer serving as president since 2013—it wasn’t surprising that we were already connecting with female founders in ways our male counterparts often couldn’t. Some of our most successful deals were the very ones others passed on simply because they didn’t “get it.”
So in 2020, we made it official: we set a goal to grow our exposure to 51% women-led businesses, and by the end of 2022, we’d hit 57%. When we launched JPC, the very first deal we closed was with a female-owned and run company—and that focus hasn’t changed. We’re proud to say that as of July 31st, 2025, 80% of our book is with women-owned or led businesses, and we’re excited that as our book grows, that percentage will represent an even greater number of women-led companies.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to financing women-led and women-founded companies. While we proudly aim for 49% of our portfolio to include male-owned businesses, we intentionally prioritize investing in women—not out of exclusion, but out of necessity. Women continue to face disproportionate barriers in accessing capital, despite being equally qualified and statistically delivering strong returns. We believe that funding women isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s a smart, strategic move. Backing women is not only good for equity, it’s good for business.
